Baptism

 Frequently Asked Questions About Baptism

Why should I be baptized?

Jesus called it a step of obedience and instructed, “Believe and be baptized.” (Mark 16:16). Baptism is the public picture of the private work Christ has done in you, and it is a celebration into new life.

Who should be baptized?

Baptism is the next step in your spiritual journey AFTER you have stepped over the Faith Line and put your trust in Jesus.

How should I be baptized?

The very word “baptism” means “to immerse.” That’s what the Bible records. Hub City Church believes that if you’re physically able, you should get completely immersed.

If I was baptized as an infant, should I be baptized again?

Your infant baptism was certainly a very special moment for your family. Instead of baptizing infants, we dedicate our infants/children during a special occasion called Child Dedication (learn more here). In the Bible, every baptism recorded occurs when someone makes a faith decision and is publicly displaying their faith. As a result, we believe that once you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, baptism is your next step. You can certainly get re-baptized as an act of worship and obedience to Christ.

Can I invite my family, friends or small group?

Absolutely! Baptism at Hub City Church is a celebration and is bound to be one of the highlights of your life as a Christian. Invite family and friends to join you on this special day as you publicly declare your faith and step forward into your new life, and don’t forget to capture this celebration by bringing your camera!

Who will baptize me?

Our Pastor baptizes individuals. If there's a family member, mentor, small group leader, etc. whom you would like to have baptize you, please let us know by emailing joe@hubcity.church so we can discuss those details.
